Samus And Link Walk Into A Cosplay Convention…

A meeting of two of Nintendo’s biggest stars at the recent Igromir 2012 show in Russia is just the start for this week’s Fancy Pants, which also features stunning outfits from Tekken, Mass Effect and the non-furry side of Pokémon.

You’ve got to admire the Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation costume below as well. Crafting accurate costumes from games that are out must be a lot easier than building one based off a few screenshots and trailers designed to show off the character’s best sides, not all sides.

To see the larger pics in all their glory (or so you can save them as wallpaper), right-click on the “expand” icon on the main image above and select “open in new tab”.

Fancy Pants is a look at the world of cosplay (costume play), where people dress up as their favourite video game characters. Sometimes it works! Sometimes it…yeah.

Geek out with some fun music and video game cosplay

(CBS News) With such a heavy focus on video games, science-fiction films and comic books yesterday (and all of them with music!), you probably think I'm all geeked out. And if so, you'd be totally wrong. Check out more music and some fun video game cosplay in the video above!

The sweet video entitled "Eurogamer - Cosplay Music Video" was posted by Sneaky Zebra who writes:

Eurogamer Expo was a chance for us to play some new upcoming games - like Halo 4, Dishonored, Aliens Colonial Marines, Tomb Raider, FarCry, Hitman and many more.

It was also the chance to catch up with some awesome cosplayers so we took the opportunity to make this little video - Hope you lot enjoy :D

And as a cherry on top of this delicious video game cosplay sundae, it might even help you come up with some great costume ideas for Halloween. Just how cool is that?  And if you'd like to check out more work by Sneaky Zebra, you can visit their YouTube page by clicking here.

Cosplay at London Comic-Con: Check Out Over 100 Pictures Featuring STAR WARS, DOCTOR WHO, BATMAN, PORTAL and More

One of my favorite things about Comic-Con are all the people that cosplay.  Since I’d never been to a convention outside the United States, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I went to London Comic-Con yesterday afternoon.  Would anyone dress up?  Are fans in London the same as the rest of the world?  After spending hours walking around the convention, I’m happy to report geeks and nerds are the same no matter where you live.

However, while many at London Comic-Con cosplay, I found more people dressed up as their favorite anime/manga/video game character instead of a movie/TV show character.  Since I only attended London Comic-Con yesterday, it’s possible that over the weekend, the percentage would be the same.  Either way, some of the costumes were pretty great, so hit the jump to check out about 100 pictures including Doctor Who, The Last Airbender, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Thor, Portal, Batman, Zelda, Mortal Kombat, and a lot more.
